Suzy Q Designs ~ Where Simple and Easy is Affordable!

Some people may not realize it but there are different kinds of business cards that are used for different kinds of purposes. Each type of business card can be can be suited for a particular kind of person or profession. Also, each can have a certain standard look or design that maximizes its potential. Knowing each type of business card can help you in your business card printing strategy. This determines the design of your custom business cards and ensures their full effect when you give them.

Below are several common types of business cards that business card printing companies produce for people. Try and determine which type matches you and your goals.

The trade business card

People from a particular trade or industry have their own on kind of business card. For example if you are a plastic manufacturer, your trade business card will usually be given to your suppliers, competitors, resellers and investors. These kinds of business cards embody the particular trade of their owner. Their design should be related or have symbolisms to the trade. If you are into plastics you may have a plastic business card. If you are a baker why not print full color business cards shaped like bread? Basically, trade business cards should give the image of a particular trade so that you can easily be remembered as a part of that industry.

Corporate business cards

Business cards in the corporate world are of cure a whole other type altogether. They differ from trade business cards since the focus of a corporate business card is the company and not the whole trade itself. Because of this, the logo of the company has a prominent place in the design of these business cards. Usually they have a serious and simple design perfect for the more formal minded corporate culture. Companies may even issue a uniform design for their employees to use especially if they will be representatives. Corporate business cards are usually given to important business contacts and potential employees.

Personal business cards

A lot of people have personal custom business cards. This is the most common type. Their design does not focus on a particular trade or company. The focus here is the profession and personality of the business card owner itself. Because of this personal business cards usually have the most beautiful, interesting and varying designs. When you do print your custom business cards you can give them to almost anyone including your family and friends.

Marketing business cards

A marketing business card is a type unto itself because it can change certain conventions of a typical business card. Besides selling “the person” that owns the business card, a marketing business card can advertise a certain product, service or event. For example, your marketing business card for your product will have your name, as well as the phrase “supplier of the best computer in the state, the PC4000.” Different marketing cards should have different gimmicks and designs like this.

Those are the most common business card types. Have you seen the right type of business card for you? Choose the right type for yourself and you will be making contacts, new relationships and business opportunities in no time.

Easter Scrapbooking Ideas

By Callie · Comments (0)

Easter is a great time to capture family photographs for scrapbooking. Even if you don’t scrapbook, planning your picture taking ahead of time ensures you won’t miss any of these great family memories. No family traditions? Then this is a great time to start!

Here are some Easter photograph ideas for scrapbooking:

Photograph spring flowers in bloom. Daffodils and tulips will make a colorful contrast to your other photographs.

Have your kids help you make Easter cookies or an Easter cake. Snap a picture of them working in the kitchen and then make sure to take a picture of the finished product. We made a layer cake and arranged it on a thick piece of cardboard covered with aluminum foil. It was lemon cake with lemon filling and pink frosting. We decorated it with store-bought Easter candy. Around the base of the cake we arranged Easter grass and added chocolate eggs and peeps for decoration. It made a great picture!

Gingerbread houses aren’t just for Christmas! Make a gingerbread house and decorate it for Easter with pastel colors and lots of Easter candy. The possibilities are limitless.

If your family attends Easter church services, make sure to get a picture of your girls in their Easter dresses. Dressing up is a great excuse to take a picture.

Coloring Easter eggs never gets old, whatever the age of your kids! They never get tired of showing you how creative they are. Join in on the fun and then take a picture of the finished product.

Easter egg hunts are also fun for the whole family. Take some good action pictures and get a picture of your kids with their Easter baskets.

Easter dinners are a great time to take family pictures. It’s a good time to take pictures of relatives you don’t often see, and fun to get pictures of the family laughing and enjoying a meal together. Take pictures of any of the good food you want to remember later.

Have fun picture taking, and have a happy Easter!

It’s a fact. Most moms are known to be control freaks. However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. When you run a scrapbooking business from home while trying to manage your home, the stress of managing every detail can be tough. For your sanity’s sake, learn to let go of the executive reins and take it easy occasionally.

If you’re honest with yourself, you will remember that before you started your scrapbooking business, there were days when the dishes didn’t get done and the house was in chaos because you were tired or just plain swamped with to dos. Did anyone complain? So, what has changed?

With the responsibilities taken with your new business, there are more demands on your time. Don’t worry about the house falling apart without your constant attention. All that worrying does is increase your stress and anxiety levels and decreases your productivity in your home office. You need to be able to have your full concentration on your scrapbooking business. It’s difficult to be productive when your mind is focusing on your household chores. Think about it. If you were working away from the home, would you be worrying about housework while at the office?

Setting daily goals is one likely solution for your scrapbooking business. These goals should include both family and business related. Setting daily goals helps you maintain the balance between your family and your scrapbooking business. They also help you to be able to relax better.

Here are a few goal-setting tips.

1. Know what your limitations are. In reality, there are no super moms? only us normal moms who are super tired. As the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your scrapbooking business be. You’ll need to take it one step at a time. When working on marketing your business, use one plan of attack at a time and develop that strategy. As your client base increases, and you are comfort with that strategy, then you can begin implementing new strategies, adding more projects or clients. Allow yourself time for each project so you can provide excellent service and complete the projects on time. This is a great feeling of accomplishment.

2. Create time in your weekly planner for both business days and housework days to lessen the stress. There will always be housework to do, especially with kids around. For one brief shining moment, your house is clean, everything looks perfect, and then, the family comes home. To combat worrying about a messy home, set a day in your schedule when your business work load is light or take time in the morning each week to devote to cleaning. Be sure to set a time frame, so you don’t spend the whole day doing the housework. Simply do what is necessary. Do a load of dishes and throw a load of laundry in while straightening the family room. The rest can wait for another time. I know what you are thinking, “she’s crazy!”(or not very clean) However, on the days when you need your scrapbooking work to be a priority, your mind will be totally focused on the business and not the laundry.

3. You’ll definitely want to schedule in some free time. While scrapbooking for fun satisfies an emotional need, you also need some down time. Taking time for you in your week will help you to balancing work and home. You don’t have to factor it in every day, butdefinitely when necessary. Sometimes getting away from your work and returning with a fresh and relaxed mind can make all the difference. Like a rubber band, you’ll snap if stretched too far. Make time to do something YOU enjoy, even if it’s just sitting and doing nothing!

Every day brings a new opportunity to grow your scrapbooking business, while enjoying your family and taking time for you to rejuvenate. A well-balanced life boosts your productivity and overall well-being in every one of your tasks, but especially your home scrapbooking business.
